Types of Wills and living wills
Choosing the right type of Will.
With so many types of Will available, Expert Wills is here to guide you through the process of choosing the right type of Will. I will take the time to ensure you have a Will you are happy with, offering you peace of mind for the future and protecting your family and loved ones.
Standard Wills
Basic Single Will: A Basic Single Will is suitable for one person and includes:
- Appointment of executors
- Appointment of guardians
- Name people you wish to receive specific items or gifts
- Name who will benefit from the remainder of your estate
- Provide specific funeral arrangements

Basic Mirror Will: A Basic Mirror Will is suitable for couples, including civil partners and co-habiting partners who want
the same things. The Wills are substantially the same, but do reflect your individual wishes.
Trust Wills
If you own a property, a Trust could offer you added protection to ensure your estate stays within your family, doesn't get used to pay for your care fees, or given to your partner's new family if they remarry after you die or even given away in divorce or bankruptcy proceedings.
Trust Wills vary in complexity, depending on what you want them to do and depending on what you are trying to protect your assets from and what assets you put into them.
I will never create a Trust, if I am not sure that you fully understand what it does and why. It is paramount that you understand what is going on at every stage.
Living Wills
A Living Will allows you to outline any wishes you have regarding healthcare and medical treatment, in the event of you not being able to communicate at a later date.
WHAT TO INCLUDE IN YOUR WILL
I can help you through this process, but you need to think about including the following:
- Any money, property and possessions you have
- Who you would like to benefit from your Will
- Who you want to look after any children under 18 years of age
- An executor – this is the person who will manage your estate and carry out your wishes after your death.
