WILL WRITING serviceS
Making a will is the first step to ensuring that your estate is shared out exactly as you want it to be when you die. Lodging it somewhere safe and being sure people know where to find it is the next step. You can write a very simple Will yourself, which will be legal as long as it is correctly validated with your signature witnessed by two others, but if you have even slightly complex financial affairs, you may need legal and financial advice as there are various legal formalities you need to follow to make sure that your Will is valid.
what to include
- Any money, property and possessions you have
- Who you would like to benefit from your Will - person or organisation
- Who you want to look after any children under 18 years of age
- An executor – this is the person who will manage your estate and carry out your wishes after your death
Keep It Up To Date
You should review your Will every five years or after any major change in your life - such as marriage, separation or divorce, having a child, moving house or any substantial change in financial circumstances. Small alterations to your Will can be by 'codicil' (an addition, amendment or supplement), more important changes may warrant a new Will.

Action Your Wishes
You will need to choose one or more executors or personal representatives to action the wishes outlined in your Will. Your executor may have to apply for probate to enable the money held in your bank accounts or insurances to be released, and he or she usually pays any tax owing from your estate.
In some cases, for example where there is trust created or the heir is a child, the law states that more than one person must act as the executor (or administrator).
